“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16
Our Purpose
The church is organized for the purpose of fulfilling Jesus' desire for us, when He says:
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind ... You shall also love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22: 36-40.
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:18-20.
We strive to obey these commands by emphasizing the priority of regular worship for those who believe in Jesus. Our worship includes the reading and teaching of His Word (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2), the exaltation of His name in praise (Eph. 5:19), and the invitation to respond to the gospel (2 Cor. 6:1-2). The clear teaching of the Bible is that God desires a relationship with us and that is only possible through Jesus Christ (John 14:6, 1 Tim. 2:5). All of our worship and Bible study has as its focus the need for people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3:9).
We also emphasize the priority of letting the world know about Jesus Christ. As we are going through this life, we carry the gospel with us (Matt. 28:18-20). We believe that the good news of Jesus is a message that needs to be heard (Rom. 10:14-15). It is our firm conviction that God wants to use this congregation to impact our community and culture.
Our Vision
Mt. Anderson Baptist Church strives to be a group of disciples of Jesus Christ building on The Great Confession (Matthew 16:13-16), obeying The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40), and fulfilling The Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20).
