“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
Statement of Faith
The church affirms the Bible as the inspired Word of God, sufficient, complete and the only basis for our beliefs. Although the church is autonomous, we accept the doctrinal statement of the Southern Baptist Convention, entitled “The Baptist Faith and Message 2000” as an affirmation of basic Christian beliefs and as a general statement of our faith.
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our pastors are the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
